The Combat Paper Gallery

What We Left Behind by Drew Matott and Dick Iacovella, 2010
Pulp painting and pulp printing on Combat Paper
10 x 26
The original piece was created on a World War II US Army Medical Corps blanket found in the attic of The Studios of Key West during an artist residency in December 2009. TSKW was an armory in a previous incarnation. It measured some 4 x 5 feet and weighed 50 pounds (it was still wet when we hung it in exhibit ....) After the exhibit, we gave it to our exhibit curator as thanks for her invaluable assistance. This second version, completed some nine months later, is significantly more portable.
